Maryland.
In-home and in-school ABA across central Maryland and the DC suburbs, growing fast. No waitlist with us.
Maryland by the numbers.
Why Maryland matters to us.
Maryland matters to us because the families here deserve quality ABA close to home. Central Maryland and the DC suburbs are home to families who reach out, advocate, and show up for their kids every day — and our Maryland team was built to match that same energy.
But every Maryland family who reaches out gets the same dedicated team, the same clinical attention, and the same standards we deliver across Florida, Colorado, and every community we serve. We are growing here for the families who trusted us first — and for every family still figuring out who to call. We will keep showing up.

What care looks like in Maryland.
In your home
Most Maryland sessions happen in your living room, where your child learns best.
In your child's school
We coordinate with IEP teams across Baltimore, Montgomery, and Howard County public schools.
In-person or over telehealth
Our supervision is delivered in person whenever possible — that is the ideal for direct observation and coaching. Telehealth is the second option, used when scheduling makes in-person difficult or when it is clinically appropriate.
A few Maryland things.
Maryland was the first state to mandate insurance coverage for autism services for kids under 19, back in 2014.
The Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore is one of the largest autism research centers in the country.
Maryland Medicaid covers ABA for children up to age 21 through the Autism Waiver and EPSDT programs.
Maryland questions, answered.
Do I need a diagnosis before House of Hearts can help?
It depends on how you plan to pay. For insurance-covered ABA, yes — Maryland insurance requires an autism diagnosis from a licensed psychologist or developmental pediatrician before services can begin. For private pay, no — you can begin services without a formal diagnosis. If you don't have one yet and you would like one, we can refer you to a diagnostic partner.
How long is the Maryland Autism Waiver waitlist?
The state-run Autism Waiver has a long waitlist. Most families we serve use Maryland Medicaid or commercial insurance instead, which has no waitlist with us.
Do you serve the DC suburbs?
Yes. Our Maryland team covers Montgomery County, Prince George's County, and Howard County, which includes most of the DC suburbs.
Can my child get ABA at school in Maryland?
Yes, but it depends on the school and the district. We cannot guarantee in-school services in every case because some schools and districts are more difficult to navigate than others. What we can guarantee is that we will work with you and your child's school to try to make it happen wherever the school will permit it.
Is teletherapy an option?
Yes. We offer telehealth supervision and parent training over secure video when in-person is not the right fit.
How quickly can we start?
Most Maryland families move from first call to first session in 14 to 30 days.
