ABA Therapy for Teenage Learners — Building the Skills That Carry Them Into Adulthood
The teenage years are not just about growing up. They are about learning how to show up in the world with confidence, independence, and the tools to build a life worth living. At House of Hearts ABA, we are here for every step of that journey.
Adolescence is one of the most pivotal chapters of a young person's life. We make sure our teenage learners do not have to navigate it without support.
How we show up.
Built for this stage.
Adolescence is one of the most complex and consequential periods in any young person's life, and for teenage learners receiving ABA therapy, the stakes are especially high. Between ages fourteen and eighteen, the focus of treatment begins to shift in an important direction. While foundational skills remain central, the clinical conversation expands to include independence, self-advocacy, social development, emotional regulation, and preparation for the world that exists beyond high school. At House of Hearts ABA, our teenage learner program is built around the understanding that these years are not just about managing behavior. They are about building a future.
Our BCBAs work with teenage learners and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect where each young person is today and where they want to be. That means targeting practical life skills alongside communication and social goals, identifying vocational interests early, and preparing teenagers for the transitions that are coming whether that means college, employment, independent living, or community participation. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all model to adolescent programming. We ask the right questions, listen carefully to the answers, and build a plan that is as unique as the teenager in front of us.
For schools that permit in-school services, our team brings ABA therapy directly into the high school setting. Our RBTs and BCBAs can work alongside educators and support staff during the school day, helping teenage learners generalize skills in the environment where they spend the majority of their time. We collaborate closely with school teams to ensure consistency between what is being targeted in therapy and what is being supported in the classroom, because alignment across settings is what produces lasting results. When school is not available or in-school services are not permitted, we bring the same quality of care directly to your home.
We also understand the reality of a teenager's schedule. Between school, homework, extracurriculars, social obligations, and everything else that fills an adolescent's day, finding time for therapy requires flexibility. House of Hearts ABA offers afternoon and evening hours as late as 10PM so that therapy never has to compete with the rest of your teenager's life. We come to you, on your schedule, at a time that works for your family. Our goal is to make high quality ABA therapy as accessible and as seamless as possible so that nothing gets in the way of your teenager getting the support they deserve.
