Partnering With Universities to Build the Future of ABA.

We are actively building university partnerships across Florida, Colorado, and beyond — structured practicum placements, fieldwork opportunities, and collaborative training pipelines that connect emerging ABA clinicians with real-world experience inside a thriving, multi-state practice.

Why We Partner

Partnering to build the future of ABA.

At House of Hearts ABA, we believe that exceptional clinical care begins long before a therapist sees their first client. That is why we are actively building university partnerships across Florida, Colorado, and beyond — creating structured practicum placements, fieldwork opportunities, and collaborative training pipelines that connect emerging ABA clinicians with real-world experience inside a thriving, multi-state practice.

Our university partnerships are designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and clinical excellence, giving students the hands-on supervision, mentorship, and professional development they need to become confident, competent behavior analysts. Whether you are a program director looking for a reliable placement partner or a student seeking a practicum site that invests in your growth, House of Hearts ABA is built to be the place where your clinical career begins.

Our commitment to university collaboration is rooted in a simple belief: the quality of the next generation of ABA clinicians directly determines the quality of care families receive. By partnering with accredited university programs, House of Hearts ABA ensures that students are trained within evidence-based frameworks, supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts with deep field experience, and exposed to the full scope of what it means to deliver compassionate, high-quality ABA services to children and families. Our supervisors do not just sign off on hours — they mentor, they model, and they invest. We maintain low supervision ratios, structured feedback cycles, and a clinical culture that prioritizes growth at every level. For university partners, this means their students are entering placements at an organization that takes the training relationship as seriously as they do.

The impact of our university partnerships extends well beyond student development — it strengthens the entire House of Hearts clinical team. When emerging clinicians bring fresh academic knowledge, current research, and genuine enthusiasm into our organization, our experienced BCBAs and RBTs grow alongside them. The exchange is mutual. Our staff become better supervisors, sharper clinicians, and more reflective practitioners through the process of mentoring the next generation. University partnerships also allow House of Hearts ABA to identify and cultivate top clinical talent early, building a pipeline of mission-aligned professionals who understand our values, our standards, and our commitment to the families we serve. For us, partnering with universities is not a recruitment strategy — it is a clinical investment in the long-term strength of our team and the outcomes we deliver every day.

Three Ways

Three ways we partner with universities.

Faculty and program collaboration

We partner with university ABA faculty and training programs to align fieldwork with coursework, host guest lectures from our clinical leadership, and give programs a reliable, real-world placement site across our four states.

Practicum and internship placements

We accept BACB-approved practicum students and BCBA candidates across our four states. Real cases, real supervision under our BCBAs, real exposure to a working multi-state clinical operation.

Clinical research collaboration

We collaborate with academic research teams on IRB-approved studies in ABA efficacy, generalization measurement, technology-supported family training, and clinical workforce development. Data sharing under Business Associate Agreement.

Why It Works

We grow clinicians inside the practice.

Students placed with us log their supervised fieldwork hours alongside our BCBAs on real cases across our four states, then take what they learn in the classroom and apply it the same week.

We protect supervision time and assign experienced BCBA mentors. We do this because growing clinicians inside the practice is how we keep standards high and turnover low.

Our practicum graduates consistently perform well on the BACB exam. We are happy to share what works with academic partners.

FAQ

Questions academic partners ask first.

How do practicum placements with House of Hearts work?

Students placed with us log their supervised fieldwork hours alongside our BCBAs on real cases across our four states. We protect supervision time, assign experienced clinical mentors, and keep the work tied to what students are learning in their program. They complete the fieldwork their program requires while getting real exposure to a working multi-state clinical operation.

How do your practicum students tend to do on the BACB exam?

Students who complete their supervised fieldwork with us tend to perform well on the BACB exam. We attribute that to structured supervision and the fact that they are logging hours on real cases the entire way. We are happy to share what works with academic partners under a data-sharing agreement.

Can we send practicum students who are out of state from your operations?

We accept BACB-approved practicum students across our four states, and for telehealth-supervised components we can sometimes accommodate students outside them. The determining factor is whether we can provide compliant, in-person supervision for the fieldwork your program requires. Tell us the program and state and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Do you support multi-year placement and research commitments?

Yes. We are glad to set up multi-year cohort agreements with university programs that want a reliable placement pipeline and ongoing research collaboration across our four states. Tell us what your program needs and we will shape an agreement around it.

What does a research collaboration agreement typically include?

It starts with an IRB-approved protocol and a Business Associate Agreement governing any data that touches protected health information. From there we define the research questions, data-sharing scope, authorship, and timeline. We collaborate on ABA efficacy, generalization, parent-mediated outcomes, and workforce development, among others.
